What is the Feedback Method?

The Feedback Method is self-guided meditation.  It uses feedback to assure success.

What is "Feedback?"

Feedback is information necessary for learning.  In shooting darts for instance, seeing your target (feedback) lets you correct your aim.

How Does the Feedback Method Work?

In meditation your target is attentionThe new method works by letting you see when you're attending and signalling you when you wander off.

Why is Attention Important?

All forms of meditation attend to something (a mantra; the breath for instance).  With attention meditation moves mountains.  Without it you while away time.

With traditional methods however, even with the best intentions, attention is easily lost.  Why?  Because you lose attention without knowing you are losing it.  You find out later when you wake from a daydream.  The Feedback Method solves this problem.  Here's how it's done.

How is it Done?

In the new method, a Focusing Disc is placed on the floor.  You simply sit and focus on the bull's-eye.  Soon visual feedback appears.

What Is "Visual Feedback?"

Visual feedback is a sensation of light.  This light is caused by attention itself.  It works like this.

Attention holds the eyes still creating a fixed retinal image.  Visual distortion - halos of light result.  Pay attention and you see the light.  When the mind wanders however, the eyes wander and the light disappears.  Feedback lets you see what you are doing You know when you're on target; you're alerted to wandering off.  The advantages make this the best way to meditate.

What are the Advantages of Feedback?

Attention makes meditation work.  Feedback lets you attend to your attention: mind your mind!  With it you can hold attention the way you'd grab a rope for a tow.  You're taken straight to your meditation goal.  Now compare traditional methods to the feedback method.

"Beginners have instant success...   Advanced practice has breakthrough intensity."
